Dear Members,

Jayasree Saranathan has said:
"But the problem is how many of us are really qualifying for prapatti.
Is it not something easier said than done?
As one continues to understand the virtues of prapatti, there also
exists the reality staring at our faces in the form of numerous
karmas which we are knowingly or unknowingly doing. "

How true!
Illustrative stories in mythology emphasize this point.
Even Jaya and Vijaya serving the Lord closest to him behaved impertinently towards the Rishis who came to see the Lord and were punished for three life-times.
Sage Viswamitra, after undergoing penance for long years, repeatedly failed, giving in to power, pride and passion.
The stories were intended to emphasize to us ordinary mortals that getting control of our mind and the sense organs is the most difficult task even for those who have gone beyond the stage of ordinary living. The spiritual path is the most difficult one to tread - like the razor's edge, as we are warned in the Upanishads:
kshurasya dhara nishita duratyayaa
durgam pathasthat kavayo vadanti

Dasan
