Dear Sri Muralikrishna, First, do not let this incident or your disappointment question our faith negatively. As pointed out earlier, protocols (like basic hygiene requirements) exist to serve a purpose and they should be for obvious reasons. But as you know, despite our best intentions mistakes happen. As the Tamizh saying goes, even the mighty elephant falters at times. It would be inappropriate for me to comment specifically, purely based on what I hear, not that I don't believe you, but I do not wish to open a can of worms unnecessarily. Whether the incident you brought up involved a simple case of well meaning effort or, I hate to say this, just plain discrimination, with hindsight we all can say it could've been handled differently as opposed to indifferently. If it was the latter, it is sad that it happened and I am sure things will improve as we all learn and progress both spiritually and ideologically. In my opinion, such incidences disappointing as they are give us an opportunity to correct ourselves. But it takes courage and conviction to accept the mistakes and fix-it as we move on. Meanwhile, I suggest we should continue our efforts to understand, practice, experience and enjoy Sri Vaishnavam not with blind faith or callous attitude but with a resolve to do it right.
