        SrImatE VEnkatESAYa namah.
  Dear BhAgavtas,
My praNAmams to all of you.The term EkAngI used by SrImAn
Mohan Sagar and SrImAn T A Varadan reminds me of an incident in the
history.I read this in the serial "Tirumala samayAchAramulu", translation
of an old Tamil(MaNi pravALa) text into Telugu by SrImAn
N.C.V.Narasimhacharya swAmi of Tirupati and published in the TTD monthly
"saptagiri".The things I remeber are as follows.
Once Tirupati was under attack by Muslim invaders.SadASiva
rAyalu was Vijayanagara king at that time. His army could not fight with
the invaders and the king was worried a lot about the safety of the holy
places.TiruvEngadamudaiyAn appeared in his dream(lucky fellow) and ordered
him to send his army under the leadership of narasimha JIyar, who was the
EkAngi VaishNava in the JIyangAr mutt of Tirupati and an upAsaka of
narasimha mantra. He was borne in a palanquin by the soldiers and was given
a sword to fight(nAm kE vAstE).Soon the commander of the rival army dreamt
that all his soldiers were slain by a lion-faced sAdhu.Dreaded by this, he
retreated alongwith his army.
