thirup pAvai - part 26 - kumaran and singam

Dear bAgawathAs,
Prior to going into the next line we have to pause and
enjoy the "kavi nayam" of ANDAL. She addressed her bridegroom in
two different ways. Why would she address HIM as "nandagOpan's
kumaran" and "yasOdhai ilam singam"? It is said that every time
Sri Krishna does any "mischief" and then the Aychiyars make a
complaint to the Father. When the Father enquires with HIM, it
seems SriKrishna will pretend to be a very innocent person and
will swear that HE didnot do anything wrong. While doing HE will
maintian all protocols and respects. (remember Father is the
AchAryA sthAnam). So his Father will be impressed with all these
and ignore all the complaints and feel proud of HIS son. Father
Son relationship is something unique (as similar to AchAryA
ShishyAL relationship) that one can only understad this by going
through this. Due to this extraordinary relationship the Lord
is addressed as "nandagOpan kumaran".
When the Aaychiyars come and lodge a protest to yasOdhai
it seems yasOdhai will want to severly punish him. But Lord will
get "angry" with her and will jump on her as similar to a "lion"
having its "seeRRam". In this episode it is said that our Lord
thus reacts differently to the mother and hence HE is addressed
as "yasOdhai ilam singam". ie The Lord reacts as a "kumaran" to
His Father (AchAryA) and behaves like a "singam" to HIS mother.
The AchArya thatthuvam and mantra upadEsam have been dealt
in the previous postings. The inner meaning of current line is
one of the end result of the mantra siddhi discussed earlier. ie
"prathayakasha darshanam" or nEtra darsanam. Prior to discussing
that we will deal the meanings of the tamil words used in this
line.
