new member introduction
From the Bhakti List Archives
• January 27, 1997
Namaskarams to every one. I am a new member and my name is Ram Sriram. Recently, I was having a small discussion with a frined, Rangarajan Iyengar about vaishnavite culture and he suggested that I subscribe to this devoted group. Rangarajan also was kind enough to send me a few of the items from the archives he had preserved. As a vidhyarthi interested in learning about the vaishnavite culture, I was very impressed with the contents and immediately subscribed to the list. I am a professor at Georgia State University, Atlanta. Rama,my wife and I are actively involved in the Sri Venkateswara temple, Atlanta and do volunteer work at the temple once a week. We both are also ardent lovers of carnatic music and particularly Thiagaraja's compositions because he propounds music as a way to engage in bhakti and surrender to Lord Rama. I am interested in learning from each one of you. Adiyen. Sriram
