friends,Valli vadam There is lot of debates on valli in Ramayana. Why should Rama kill valli? Could he not avoid it? Not only this there are many more places in Ramayana, like Agni pariksha of seeta, after the war with ravana.before we take up the questions, we must first understand the real background. First valmiki wrote Ramayana after it was over, and as he heard from sage narada.the Rama that is portrayed by valmiki, is a noble king with devine qualities. Assuch during epic written by valmiki Rama did not behave as a devine person, but a good ruler. During the course of his life he killed ravana. If we compare Krishna and Rama both were different in their approach. Krishna behaved like an avatar right from his birth. As a child he killed all rakshasas sent by kamsa.people also believed he was an avatar of Vishnu. We must read the epics keeping this in mind. Whatever Krishna did during war, Rama did not do that. Even when garuda came and helped Rama and lakshmana from nagastra of inderjit, Rama was asking garuda who are you? For which he replied I am your friend you will know more later. balaji -------------------------------------------------------------- - SrImate rAmAnujAya namaH - To Post a message, send it to: bhakti-list@yahoogroups.com Group Home: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bhakti-list Archives: http://ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/ Your use of Yahoo!
