Dear Sri sadagopan Iyengar, It is true that when AzhwAr's see things they indeed liken them to the Lord. I am able to recall immediately a nam AzhwAr's pasuram from periya thiruvandhAdhi. i. periya-thiruvandhAdhi 73 "pUvaiyum kAyAvum nElamum pUkkinRa, kAvimalaRenRum kANdhORum, pAviyEAn mel Avi mei migavE pUrikkum, avvavai ellAm pirAn vuruvE enRu" "pUvaip-pUvum, kAyAm-pUvum, nElam-karuneidhal, kAVi malar-senkazhunEr pushpam" The nature gives us the abovementioned flowers. To blossom is its nature which happens day in and day out. However, when AzhwAr views this natural phenomenon, not only his mind but also his physique becomes emotionally ecstasic-Avi,mei migavE pUrikkum-as if he has seen the Lord. Though AzhwAr is not able to meet the Lord in person(That is why he terms himself as pAviyEAn),he is reminded of the Lord's form whenever he sees these flowers blooming. Here, the bloom of flowers is likened to the form of the Lord.(avvavai ellAm pirAn vuruvE enRu) vAnamAmalai padmanAbhan [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] -------------------------------------------------------------- - SrImate rAmAnujAya namaH - To Post a message, send it to: bhakti-list@yahoogroups.com Group Home: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bhakti-list Archives: http://ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/ Your use of Yahoo!
