UttamUr Swamy Thirunakshathram celebration and Grand Finale of ThiruppAvai

Dearest Srivaishnavas,

We at Simhapuri had celebrated "abinava dEsika" Sri utaamUr Swamy 
Thirunakshathram (Thai -sWathy) on the 7th of Jan at Sri Ramanujam's 
residence and it was Maargazhi 23rd maarimalai muzhainjil..

With the usual recitation of podhu thaniyans, ThiruppaLLiyezhucchi and 
ThiruppAvai the NAMA event began.
We recited a Tamil PAsuram of Utthamap pAmAlai written by Sri Seva Swamy 
(published in Centenary malar) to pay our obeisance to SrI UttamUr Swamy. 
(Let me write about this Great Utthamap pAmAlai later in a separate email)

Sri Hari spoke for more than 1-1/2 hours on Maarimalai muzhanijil mainly 
elaborating on Sri UttamUr Swamy's ThiruppAvai commentary. He went into 
great joy, when he mentioned that the entire ThiruppAvai is on Sri LakshmI 
Nrusimhan (being an ardent devotee of Sri LakshmI Nrusimhan); He also 
indicated that ANdAL wished and dreamt of marrying only Nrusimhan (arimukan, 
achuthan en kaimEl kai vaiithu)- (arimukan- Lion faced)

The evnt ended with the recitation of VishNu sahasranAmam.

Also on 14th Jan, we had the Grand Finale of ThiruppAvai upanyAasam series 
of Sri Hari and it was really a fitting finale for GodhAmrutham.
He explained very beautifully the phalasruthi pAsuram (vangakkadal 
kadaintha).

The upanyAsam touched its crescendo when he very quickly and deeply 
mentioned the sAram (essence) of ThiruppAvai comparing in its entirety to 
Swamy Desikan's Srimad RahasyatrayasAram (RTS).. From one sAram to other 
sAram it was marvellous. He took one by one adhikAram (chapter) of RTS and 
highlighted how and where it is reflected by Sri ANdAL in ThiruppAvai.

He also touched upon the Great divine name of GodhA... describing few 
slOkams from GodhAsthuthi of Swamy Desikan.

In short, Simhapuri is fortunate to have Sri Hari amidst us.
