My apologies if this pAsuram ("amparamE thaNNIrE sORE") has
been discussed in detail in the past; also for the delay in
talking about this pAsuram till today, but adiyEn is catching
up to the bhakti posts.

One of the interesting things to note in this pAsuram is
the fact that Sri Nandagopar is awakened as "ezhunthirAy",
Sri Krishna is awakened as "ezhunthirAy" and Sri Baladeva
is awakened as "uRangEl", but Yasoda pirAtti is awakened
as "aRivuRAy".

As Sri SatakOpan Swami has mentioned "NandagOpan and
YasOdhA are extrapolated to the ranks of the Lord and His
PirAtti here". Our Acharyas have interpreted this aRivuRAy
as, if our pirAtti understands us (our plight) then there
is nothing further for us to be worried about. Also, if
She were to only think of us then our path to reach Him
would become very easy.

adiyEn also thinks that this can be thought of as perhaps
He might go to sleep and forget about us and therefore
needs to be awakened, but She is always awake to us and
all we need to request to Her is that she think of us and
lead us to Him. Here we see the role of pirAtti as our
Acharyan who shows us the path. And this is also a
description of all our Acharyans as ones who are always
awake and ready to lead us to Him. All we need to do is
to approach them.
