Sri ANDAL thiruvadikaLE saraNam pArOr pugazha padinthu El Or em pAvAi thirup pAvai - part 65 - padinthu El Or Dear bAgawathAs, "padinthu" means "maNdi" or being involved. It means that we must involve in this nOnbu in such a way that we are not diverting our attention on anything else. Our focus must be in this nOnbu very very sincerely and we must not loose our faith as well. "padinthu" means a level of involvement in anything. It is a serious involvement in anything. It is not similar to a part time job. One must observe this nOnbu with utmost sincerity and faith. "padinthu" also means that taking bath. ie Since Sri ANDAL called everyone in the beginning for "neerAda pOthuveer" to do snAnam and enjoy Sri Krishna anubavam, this word must also be taken such that one must do involve in this Sri Krishna anubavam with fullest devotion to Lord Sri KrishnA. One must be immersed in this nOnbu in such a way that they donot know anything other than Sri Krishna. The word "El" means "listen". "El" also means "please accept this". This word is an appeal to all the Aaychiars by Sri ANDAL. This is similar to an AchAryA telling his shishyAL at the end of the nOnbu that "Lord has assured to give you mOksham, you please accept this". It is also similar to telling the brides that Lord Sriman nArAyaNan alias Sri Krishnan has accepted you and it is your turn now to accept this marriage and conduct ourselves as a patthini. The word "Or" means "one". It also means "please keep this in your mind", or "please think on this and conduct your self suitably" or "learn this" and conduct yourself accordingly. What is that the Aaychiars must learn, think and keep in mind ? The Aaychiars were told that "nArAyaNaNE nammakE paRai tharuvAn" and that we are assured that Lord Sri nArAyaNan will take care of HIS own udamai or belonging (this soul). We needn't fear. (mA suchA). The combined word "ElOr" also means "understand this" that Lord will bless us for our nOnbu. It is also seen by some as addressing those who are always listening to the command of their leader. ie., The Aaychiars donot seek anything other than the Lord and they are the best dAsis as such. They donot know anything other than Lord SriKrishna and their pathivrathayam cannot be compared to anyone's. Such prapannA's can be addressed as "ElOr".
