thirup pAvai - part 51 - "nArAyaNaNE" as "nArAyaNaNaN mattumE"

Dear bAgawathAs,

 	The tamil language has distinct and  different  words  
(and meanings)  for  expressing "HE  HIMself" ("nArAyaNaNE"),  
"HE only"  ("nArAyaNan oruvaNE"),  and "HE alone" ("nArAyaNan  
mattumE"). There is a notion that this word "nArAyaNaNE" used 
in this verse may be meant as "nArAyaNan mattumE" ("nArAyaNan 
alone") and as "nArAyaNan oruvaNE" ("nArAyaNan only").  These
are implied meanings and are conceived to be valid  as  well.  
It  may  look like a stretch for some, but nevertheless these 
are conceievd by great AchAryAs as an implied meanings and so
it  is  worth  to  attempt  and bring a justification to this 
usage and understand this meaning as well.  HE  will  HIMself 
(nArAyaNaNE)  bless  us  is understood as  "HE  HIMself  will 
alone bless us". If  we have  surrenderd to "HIM  alone", who 
else can bless us ?   

	The word "nArAyaNaNE" as said before is seen by  some
vyAkyAna kartthAs as "nArAyaNan mattumE". ie.,  HE  alone can 
give mOksham and "HE alone" is the siddhdA upAyam and  so on. 
We have been observing this  nOnbu  exclusively  seeking  HIS 
blessings.  We  have  not  sought anyother bridegroom or even
thought of anyone else.  We  have  not worshipped  any  other 
annya dEvathAs since we are doing  this  nOnbu. Avan  mattumE
nammai adiya mudiyum. or HE alone can marry  us  (Aaychiars). 
HE alone  can  give  us  back  the status  to us as HIS pathi 
-vrathai  or  the  one who is eternally  subservient. ie., HE 
alone can make us (Aaychiars) as HIS wives. HE alone can make 
us serve HIM  eternally.  Since  HE  "alone"  or  HE only can 
provide all these as the palan or vyAjA for our nOnbu, it may 
also by suitable to say that HE "HIMself" (nArAyaNaNE)   will 
provide us HIS blessings. 
	
    	A   superior  person  is  having a sole possession of 
something or HE is identified  as distinct and special due to 
this special possession,  (the possession is ability to grant 
mOksahm as the sole provider). When HE has to  deal with that 
unique thing (HIS ability to  give  mOksham),  HE will always  
deal it all by HIMself or HE alone ("nArAyaNan mattumE").  HE 
will not let a proxy or  an agent deal such  on  HIS  behalf. 
It  is  because  of  this  unique ability,  this  act  is  of 
(giving mOksham) utmost importance to  HIM. So the hypothesis  
of this is such that when a superior person  (Lord  nArAyANA)  
is  giving  something  HIMself   (ie "nArAyaNaNE" -   through  
HIS own   siddha  upAyam),  it means that HE is in a position 
such that "HE alone" can  provide such (mOksham).  

       ie.,  avan  mattumE  kodukkak  koodiya  oru  (poruLai) 
padhatthai (mOksham) veRu yArAlum thara mudiyumA ? ie Moksham  
can be provided by  HIM alone and can anyone other  than  HIM  
provide  mOksham ? This being the  case  when  some one  says 
that "HE  HIMself" (nArAyaNaNE) will give (mOksham), it  also 
implies directly that "HE alone" can give. ie., If not for HE 
HIMself who else can  give something (mOksham) that  HE alone 
can give ? This conclusion  is  based  on the  thing  that is 
being  given  (paRai tharuvAn)  mentioned  at the  end of the 
verse. ie., "HE will provide us mOksham when we have obseverd
the nOnbu (saranAgathi)". If the "given thing"  is  something 
else such as a "materialistic thing" in nature, someone  else  
may also  give such. But mOksham is such that  "HE only"  can 
give.  So nArAyaNan only can give this to us (Aaychiars). How  
do we decide it is mOksham  that  is   given ? We  sought  it 
by doing this nOnbu.
