I read with great interest the three letters posted about srirangam . i was born in srirangam though did not live there except for 2 years after my marriage. I did visit my grandparents every summer in my childhood and went to temple everyday with them and so learnt about the all the sannidhis and the little stories about them. most interesting is the statue of the visitors who wanted to reach srirangm in time to enter the swargavasal but did not, and the lord made them into statues so that thye can enter the vasal the next year, it is still there in the pragaram.I would like to post the following stotram my grandmother taught me to say before i went to sleep everyday.it is supposed to help one have a dreamless sleep. [it does not work for me] '' gyanatthal mana mandiratthal gyanak kozhundu kondu ullu mezhugi saru purappada seru sertthu yamanamennum vidai vidaitthu vaikundam ennum neerai paichi kamakrodam ennum kalai parithhu kadir varumbothu vetti karthu jamapozhuthirukka ezhundirundu RANGA RANGA endru sonnavarku, semborkoilum thirukkadavum ezhu naal kattiya rathnamalayum erandu kayile thiruvilakkum vazhboomikku nadhanai vaikundaththirku rajavai sabdha sagaram kudai pidikka ashtavasukkal lolakkam pada chiyalum sheekshamalum thirumandiraththai munnittukondu appal iyankoil thandi vraja nadhi kadandhu meniyum semponnagi theerthamum satariyum thiruthulyum thangamana thiruvadi keezh thandarulap pettrene. singara vanandannil erukka kanden oongana madilezhum valamaga kanden. vaidaradi koviladi vasaladi paninden appaum tiruvanandazhvanai paninden, appavum sriranganayakiye paninden. jagathiruppadi kanden ,thiruppakudalai kanden, induthalai nagam kanden, adhanmel rangarazhgu kanden. chatti aravanayum uppu charum sukku kashayamum mulaikeerayum thangamana thiruvdi keezh thandarula prttrene ,appavum paravasudevarai kanden , PARAMAPADANDHA UN THIRUVADIGALE CHARANAM. THE END I have written this in the prose form , the way i still recite when i go to bed. there are lot of things i do not understand. If anybody has heard this please explain it and please forgive me for the mistakes in typo or otherwise. kanaka
