As our Mani Varadarajan swami wrote NAma bhajans is not an upAya for moksha. But there are some pramanams that say that Nama bhajans and visit to holy places result in Moksha. Swami Desikan in Srimad Rahasya Rahasya traya saaram gives a 'samAdhanam' for this by saying that they will lead to moksha INDIRECTLY('paramparaiyAga'). It will remove the moksha pratibhandaga pApams and some time or other will give Acharya sambandham. AchArya will then guide one to do bhakti -yoga or prapatti. Undoubtedly for akinchanaas like us prapatti is the upaya.
