dear bhaagavatas,
so far we enjoyed giridhari through mira's poems, :) now we shall continue 
to enjoy the same hari through kabir's poem....




The Sakhis of Kabir

Kabir, when I have found a perfect Guru,
     the salt has vanished in the flour
     [so that it cannot be separated].
Caste, family, & lineage are no more,
     what name then will you give me?

Cleverness does not please the Master
     but sincerity of heart.

If day & night you cry piteously,
     He will hear you in the end.

Millions of actions are instantly erased
     by invoking the Name, just a little,
But merits heaped up for endless ages,
     without the Name, will lead you nowhere!

The Name of Ram is the essence of Reality . . .

As Maya dwells within the mind,
     so let man replace her by Ram . . .

by invoking Ram, man is saved,
     without it, all is grief!

Those who have understood nothing
     can sleep a happy sleep --
But when I woke up from my ignorance,
     great was my plight.

Lions are not found in flocks
     & saints do not walk in troops!

Kabir, adore Hari
     & renounce sensual pleasures:
You will not obtain again
     the chance of a human birth!
