arimathe ramanujaya namaha

namo narayana
whatever iam sending now is from the book
"adialogue on hinduism" by sri sri gopaladesikan.
i will send remaining ques in each mail.
whtis the basic authority for hinduism?
vedas
wht is the meaning of the term vedas?
"which gives knowledge"
any other name for vedas?
sruthi
wht is meant by sruti?
"which is heard"
(vedas are orginally taught by lord narayana to
bramhaorally.from there on the vedas came down from
guru to the students orally only.the guru teaches the
vedas to students and he hears it)
are vedas known by any other names?
nigama and amnaya
nigama(settled text wich is handed down frm guru to
student frm time immemorial)
amnaya(tht learnt by students by frequent reptitions)
who composed vedas?
thevedas have not been composed by anybody, not even by
god himself.even god did not create or make the
vedas.narayana has only taught tobramha and then down
line .hence vedas are called apaurusheya-not authored
by anyone,including god?
how do u explain tht vedas have not been authored by
anyone,including god?
they areactually breath of god.tht is after
deluge(pralaya),when the world is created, god narayana
remembers the vedasand teaches them to bramha and then
it comes down the line.tht is why we say like tht.
                            adiyen
                               madhavadasan
