Priya Bhagawadbandhuvullara, Asmathsree Gurubhyo Namaha Srimannarayana Ramanuja Yathibhyo Namaha Srimathay Narayananayanamaha Srimathay Ramanujaya Namaha Jaishrimannarayana Everyone agrees (in fact likes to) that Paramatma is dwelling in each and every being as AntaryAmi. So we have to keep ourselves as sanctified as a temple. We have to offer ourselves what we offer to the Lord in the Temple. We always offer Satvic foods to the Lord in the temple. So there is no question of offering other than Sattvic food to ourselves if we want to maintain the sanctity of our bodies(which we love to maintain for a long period of 100 years) with full reverence to Antaryami Sriman Laxmi Narayana. Thus for a Mumukshuvu (Who only eats to live and not lives to eat), Sattvic food is a must. Even among vegetarian food there are lots of non-sattvic food as described in Srimad BhagawadGita like old food, too-hot, too-cold, contaminated, tongue dryers etc. Thus a Mumukshuvu instead of arguing why one should not take such non-sattvic food, he should still look out any thing non-satvic among the food already being taken and which is still diverting his attention to temporary worldly pleasures and preventing him from concentrating whole and soul at the Lotus feed of Lord Laxmi Narayana for everlasting supreme bliss; just as a chronic patient unable to bear the pains inspite of diet control would like to know still anything he can still avoid from his diet to reduce his pains.
