According to my Divya Prabandham teacher, who hails from Srirangam and who knows Sri Krishna Premi personally, Sri Krishna Premi is a descendant of Periyavaaccaan Pillai. But I have heard conflicting reports about his affiliation, so I cannot be sure. At any rate, he is highly respected among Sri Vaishnavas, even the orthodox, and he is admired for spreading the message of Sri Ramanuja among the masses. It is true, however, that he is not regarded as a traditional acharya in the same vein as our maThadhIpatis and acharya purushas who administer the Sri Vaishnava sacraments. Perhaps Sri Subra Ramakrishnan is studying in an informal manner under him? Mani
