This may not have the same authority (Mani ;-)) as
RTS, but here is verse 3 of Athikaara sangraham of
   Swami Sri Desikan:

   ennuyir thandhaLiththavarai saraNam pukki
     yaanadaivEn avargurukkaL NiraivaNangip
   pinnaruLaal perumboothoor vandha vaLLal
     periyanambi aaLavandhaar maNakkaal nambi
   nanneRiyai avarkkuraiththa uyyakkoNdaar
     naadhamuni satakOpan sEnai naadhan
   innamudhath thirumagaL enRivarai munnittu
     emperumaan thiruvadikaLai adaiginREnE

Our aachaarya parambarai is listed here as

The one who gave us our spiritual life (ennuyir thandhu aLiththavar)
His acharya ancestors (avar gurukkaL niRai)
   Sri Ramanuja (perumboothoor vandha vaLLal)
   periya nambi
   ALavandhaar
   maNakkaal nambi
   uyyakkoNdaar
   naadhamuni
   satakOpan
   sEnai naadhan
   Sri (innamudhath thirumagaL)
   emperumaan

But then this paasuram also does not say that "upadEsam"
took place from Lord to Thaayaar, it can at best be
   inferred.

This is an interesting question and I will eagerly look
for discussion among true scholars in whose group I most
   definetly do not belong.
