SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, The Gopikas picked up the enthusiastic lively girl from door number 8 and then went to the next door. hEy! What is this? This is not door number nine house. They checked the next door and it was ten. So, this has to be nine. They again went inside to check the number on the door and it was inscribed and embossed in gold as “9”. Wow! What a palace! Till last night this was just another small hut like all our homes. Today it has got huge ramparts, big hall, and the entire hall is impregnated with most valuable gem stones and the most beautiful golden lamps are lit all around the house and inside the nicely decorated room in the middle, there is a big king size cot on which even the bankrupt fellow can go to sleep in a minute’s time- such comforting and soft foam. Our friend is sleeping so charmingly with ornaments worn all over her body and silk clothing. The way she sleeps, it does not appear as if she is sleeping. It looks as if she is looking at something with wonderstruck wide open eyes. Perhaps, after talking to us, last night, Krishnan would have blessed her like he did for Kuchela, and replaced the whole house with this palatial building; He adorned her with all kinds of jewellery and beauty with His own sankalpam in one night. Gopikas get great Anandham looking at the blessing their friend got from KaNNan. Their happiness and ecstasy could not be describe in words even by them. Maamaan magaLE! – oh ammAn magaLE! – ammAn Azhipiraan- is the how the Lord is addressed as. He is Sarva sampath saruddhan. Sriman Narayanan must have longed to have a daughter and He must have crated this most beautiful girl and became happy to see her sleep in such nice cot/bed in a palace made for her. Og such great blessed girl! Open the door. Also maamaan magaL- ammangaa. Meaning: andha mangaa- She looks like that alarmel mangaa- Sri Mahalakshmi herself. She must be her daughter. [all prapannans are Sri Lakshmi kumaarargaL]. Maa maan magaL- She is deer eyed beautiful girl. Open the door. You yourself open the same. We don’t know where the door is. Everything looks spick and span. All appears same and we do not where the wall is and where the door is. We can only see you from outside. Please open the lock yourself. In spite of all that, she does not respond and open. Girls address their mother. Maami. Please ask her to open or you open. Is she dumb? Is she deaf? Or is she caught in some sort of complacency that she has done what is to be done and need not do any ArAdhanam hereafter? Even if one is kruthakrithyan, (having surrendered to the Lord and done what is to be done, still one has to perform Nithya naimittika karma as Bhagawath preethyartham and should not stop). manthirappattaalO? Or has she been initiated into some mantras thereby she has been misled (to believe something unsampradayic). Is that why she is not getting up? Which mantra? – has someone initiated into her some devathanthara mantra? Or has someone (mis)interpreted the tat tvam asi (You are that) and taught her? Is that why she is just lying and enjoying her own self thinking that mistakenly as Brahman? Should it not be understood in the right perspective without violating any of other sruthi vaakhyams (of bheda sruthis) as “This means your soul's soul is Brahman. Conversely, Brahman is your soul's soul and your soul is the body of Brahman.. Taken together, in this sense, it can be said that you are yourself the Brahman. According to Bhagavad Ramanuja, when the father says "Tath Tvam asi", it means both "You belong to Him as His body and He belongs to you as your innermost soul" If one thinks that He is Brahmam, Srimath Azhagiya Singar says, it will only lead to siddha brahmam and not Brahmam. It will violate and make many ther sruthi vaakyams void. Mother asks: Okay? In that case what shall we do for her (if she is misled to believe other mantras?) Not to worry: maamaayan- maadhavan- vaikunthan- enRu naamam Tell her these divine names: Vaikunthan- He is Sri vaikunta Nathan- meaning: there is a place called Vaikuntam- There are Nithyasooris, mukthas, and there is Lotus eyed Sriman Narayanan with the divya mangaLa vigraham at all times. He is with his Mahaalakshmi in His divine chest. Hence, nothing is an illusion. All this is True and there are many jeevathmas; There is a achethanam called Vaikuntam, Suddha sattvam and Kaalam. Madhavan- Sriya: Pathi- one who is ever with Sri. One who is seen by devotees as Sriya: Pathi at all times in their eyes and in front of their eyes with all his paraphrenelia in his divya mangala vigraham. That’s why when we do Achamanam, we touch the eyes with Pavithra finger (fourth finger) uttering “Madhavaaya namah”: He is Parama pavithran. Maamaayan- He is most mysterious One- One who has sakala tattvams (chith and achith) as His Body and himself being the inner soul in them. The totality of existence is like a wheel, God being the hub and the rim and Jeevas being the spokes connecting. They are inseparable but not identical with him" The individual soul [while being the soul in relation to the physical Body] constitutes the body of the Universal soul (i.e. Paramatma) who is none other than Sriman Narayanan. He is maamaayan. All such utterances of His divine names do not wake her up. maamI! You know her nature. You know what for she gets up so that she can join us for ArAdhanam to Sri Krishnan. She is the dear devotee of KaNNan and she is the blessed one. Please wake her up, maamI (auntie). Essence (as per Srimath Azhagiya Singar) of this pAsuram: The palace, the golden lamps, the beautiful cot, the bed, the anubhavam, - is all the blessing from KaNNan. But it will all vanish once the dream is over. Meaning: After this birth (even if it is so blessed one – with lots of wealth, lots of good health and charm- good family) given by the Sriya: Pathi, even then, this is not what we should be complacent with. It will all vanish in the next birth. In order to get the same maNi maNdapa, the light everywhere, the Paripoorna Anandham which never perishes, we need to do what is to be done to get His deliverance- which is Moksham. He is mOksha pradhan as well as muktha praapyan. If there is any merit, the credit goes to the great commentary by Srimath Azhagiya Singar. Any errors / mistakes are due to my lack of understanding.
