IMPEDIMENTS TO SREEVAISHNAVITES? The write-ups on 'mAyanai mannu vadamadhurai maindhanai' thirup pAvai -5, highlights on the fact that all the impediments vanish on uttering the name of the Lord. A pertinent question arises in this regard. Do impediments thorn the way of Sreevaishnavic path? This aspect is dealt in the commentaries and also by vAnamAmalai jEyar's swApadhEsam. The quote " srEyAmsi bahU vignAni" is taken referring to the fact that obstacles lie even in the path of Great Souls. Sri chakravarthi thirumagan was to have been anointed and adorned as the King of Ayodhya. The sacred time is fixed by the great sage Vashishta himself. The person who is to be adorned to be the king is none other than sri RamA who is personification of dharmA. Sri RamA and pirAtti approach periya perumAL before the adorning function. The whole ayOdhyA desires the coronation function. Despite all these postive features obstacle sprang its hood stopping the function. We are after all souls who have committed sins, since ages. There is bound to be impediments,is the query raised by one quarter. As we proceed to experience his togetherness, definitely the past and future sins will be decimated. Even if The Lord's plan collapse, He will not allow His devotees desires to go hayware. Lord KrishNa's out of the way efforts is an outstanding instacne for this. Thus indulging in bhagwadh guNAnubhavam, the impediments vanish automatically. The aim is to enjoy the KrishNAnubhavam and as a corollary the impediments (present and future) evaporate is emphasised. It is relevant to recall here the pAsuram "yEzhmai pirappukkum ksEmam, innOykkum, EdhEa marundhu, vUzhmayil kaNNapirAn kazhal vAzhthumin vunnithE" thiru voi mozhi 4-6-9. where the Lord KrishNA's divine feet is good not only for future but automatically removes the disease of AzhWar. Similar to that, the KrishNAnubhavam and the chanting of His thirunAmam will automatically remove all the impediments. vAnamAmalai padmanAbhan [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] -------------------------------------------------------------- - SrImate rAmAnujAya namaH - To Post a message, send it to: bhakti-list@yahoogroups.com Group Home: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bhakti-list Archives: http://ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/ Your use of Yahoo!
