Dear sri vaishNava perunthagaiyeer,
Continuing from the previous post, we will see naamaas of Sree Vishnu sahasra naamam having the common thread of "vEdham, sruthi, saasthram, yOgam, manthram, sidhdhi, thapas, nishtai" -- all relating to how to lead the spiritual life or the various ways of living which a true seeker of god will adopt.
In the "sidhdhi" sub head one naamaa was left out while typing, even though available in the draft.
Similarly another naamaa was left out in the sub head "saanthi". These two are added now.
1. Om sidhDhaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 98 occurring in slOkam 11
Also naamaa no. 825 occurring in slOkam 88
Meaning: for 98 - he who is ever existing - one who has achieved all that has to be achieved.
For 825 - who is attained by those who know the truth of his being
One who is perfection personified.
2. Om saanthaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 589 occurring in slOkam 62
Meaning: -he who always is tranquil.
- One who is quiet within.

3. Om sarva vidhE nama: -- naamaa no. 125 occurring in slOkam 14
Meaning: the knower of vEdhaas.
4. Om vEdhaaya nama: -- naamaa no.129 occurring in slOkam 14
Meaning: the propounder of vEdhaas. - he is the one who gives knowledge
- the root word vidh means to know - when known it is vEdhaa- the knowledge.
5. Om vEdha vidhE nama: -- naamaa no. 130 occurring in slOkam 14
Also naamaa no. 133 occurring in slOkam 14
Meaning: for 130 and 133 - knower of vEdhaas.
6. Om vEdha angaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 132 occurring in slokam 14
meaning: for whom the vEdhaas are the body - the angam
7. Om vEdhyaaya nama: -- naamaa no.165 occurring in slOkam 18
Meaning: he who can be realised.
- that one consummate knowledge to be gained is that great vishNu.
8. Om vaidhyaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 166 occurring in slOkam 18
Meaning: the knower of vidhya the knowledge- also the supreme doctor.
9. Om chathur vEdha vidhE nama: -- naamaa no.777 occurring in slOkam 82
Meaning: who is known to those who learnt the four vEdhaas. Knower of all four vEdhaas.
10. Om dhanur vEdhaaya nama: -- naamaa no.862 occurring in slOkam 92
Meaning: he who has propounded the science of archery.
11. Om thri saamnE nama: -- naamaa no. 581 occurring in slOkam 62
Meaning: one hwo is propounded by the three fold saama vEdhaa,
one who is glorified by the three saamaas.
12. Om saama gaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 582 occurring in slOkam 62
Meaning: the singer of the saama vEdha hymns.
13. Om saamaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 583 occurring in slOkam 62
Meaning: he is saama vEdham
he who dispels the sins of those who sing in praise of him.
"vEdhaanaam saama vEdhOsmi" says bhagvaan in geetha 10 -22.
14. Om saama gaayanaaya nama: -- naamaa no.988 occurring in slOkam 106
Meaning: he before whom the released souls sing the hymns from saama vEdha in praise of him
One who sings saama vEdha songs.
15. Om sabdha athi gaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 911 occurring in slOkam 97
Meaning: he who is beyond the reach of vEdhaas.
vEdhaas just point to him but cannot fully describe him.
16. Om sabdha sahaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 912 occurring in slOkam 97
Meaning: one who allows himself to be invoked by vEdhaas
responds to the calls of devotees.
17. Om mahaa svanaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 41 occurring in slokam 5
meaning: he, of sacred and venerable sound.
Mahaan means venerable, svanah means sound,
whose call is thundered in hearts as compelling whisper.
He whose great breath is the very vedhaas.
18. Om manavE nama: -- naamaa no. 51 occurring in slOkam 6
Meaning:- one who has manifested himself in the form of vEdhic manthraas.
- he who wills.
19. Om gOvindhaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 189 occurring in slOkam 20.
Also naamaa no. 543 occurring in slOkam 58
meaning: for 189 - the recipient of vEdhic words of praise.
The very theme and author of vEdhaas.
for 543 - the rescuer of the earth. [gO - earth, vEdhaas, cows]
20. Om vaagmiNe nama: -- naamaa no. 268 occurring in slOkam 29
Meaning: he who is the worhy object of the words of praise in the form of vEdhaas.
21. Om maargaaya nama: namaa no. 367 occurring in slOkam 40
Also naamaa without number after naamaa 398 occurring in slOkam 43
Meaning: the path - he is one whom seekers of the highest meditate upon in order to reach the supreme.
22. Om pramaaNaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 429 occurring in slOkam 46
Also naamaa no. 959 occurring in slOkam 103
Meaning: for 429 - he who proves the authority and validity of vEdhaas
the authority to stipulate good and bad.
For 959 - he whose very form is vEdhaas.
23. Om thri vikramaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 533 occurring in slokam 56
meaning: he who traverses or pervades all the three vedaas, one who has taken 3 steps as vaamanaa.

24. Om ijyaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 447 occurring in slOkam 48
Meaning: the object of worship.
25. Om mahaa ijyaaya: -- naamaa no. 448 occurring in slokam 48
meaning: he who is the object of superior worship which is not sullied by desire for other fruits.
26. Om mahaa arhaaya nama: naamaa 525 occurring in slokam 56
meaning: who deserves the highest worship - worthy of worships.
27. Om archithaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 640 occurring in slOkam 68
Meaning: he who is worshipped.

28. Om krutha aagamaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 661 occurring in slokam 70.
Also naamaa no.795 occurring in slOkam 84
meaning: for 661 - who revealed divine manthraas.
for 795 - the author of vEdhaas - proponent of scriptual texts.

29. Om sruthi saagaraaya nama: -- naamaa no. 265 occurring in slOkam 28
Meaning: he who is like the ocean for the rivers called vEdhaas.
5. thathvam:
30. Om thathvaaya nama: -- naamaa no. 963 occurring in slOkam 103
Meaning: he who is the very essence and principle of universe - the reality.
31. Om thathva vidhE nama: -- naamaa no. 964 occurring in slOkam 103
Meaning: he who alone knows the truth in its entirety.
6. the author of the vEdhaas:
32. Om vyaasaaya nama: -- naamaa no.578 occurring in slOkam 61
Meaning: the classifier - the omniscient vyaasa.
For sri sankara this naama is combined with previous naama
sarva dhrug and then treated as sarva dhrug vayaasa:
-- meaning - one who created many men of wisdom.

the rig vEdhaa has 21 branches - saakhaas
the yajur vEdhaa has 101 branches
the saama vEdhaa has 1000 branches
the atharvaNa vEdhaa has 9 branches.
