I recently had the bhagayam of visiting Swami Kulasekhara Alwar's avathara sthalam. For the benefit of those who wish to go there, here are some particulars. The place is is known locally as Thiru Kulasekhara Puram, a suburb of Kodungallor. It is about 3 kms south of the town Kodungallor, on NH 17. About 100 metres west of the National Highway 17, there is a Sri Krishna Temple, said to have been built by Sri Kulasekhara Alwar. There is no sannidhi for the Alwar in the temple which is in Kerala style. I was informed that there are plans to build a sannidhi for the Alwar soon in the temple precincts. Kodungallor can be reached from Irinjalakuda or Kochi on the Chennai- Thiruvanathapuram railway line. The nearest place with good accomodation is Tirussur. There are no good facilities near the temple for food or stay. The temple is open from 5 AM to 10 AM and 5PM to 7 PM Adiyen D Bala sundaram [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] -------------------------------------------------------------- - SrImate rAmAnujAya namaH - To Post a message, send it to: bhakti-list@yahoogroups.com Group Home: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bhakti-list Archives: http://ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/ Your use of Yahoo!
