Dear Bhaktas,

The following is an extract from Shri Mani's excellent
explanation on Brahmatwam:
"Brahman .................... while also signifying the jIva and acit,
principally signifies the Supreme Reality because of a
unique twofold meaning. Sri Ramanuja cites an ancient
authority that assigns the name Brahman to the Supreme
because, not only is it Great, it *imparts* Greatness to
everything else (bRhatvAt bRhmaNatvAt brahmA iti)."

Perhaps, knowing and accepting the existence of this
attribute of Brahman in all Jivas, without reference to
caste, creed, race, etc., removes mental obstacles in the path
of Spiritual progress? The great Ramana Maharishi had this
in view when he advised us in his Upadesa Saaram:

Jagatha-ISa-dhee yukta sevanam
ashTa-mUrthi-bhruth deva pUjanam

Dasan,
MK Krishnaswamy
