Request for Information

One of my friends is said to hail from a village called Voruppattur 
(or uruppaTTUr). He is anxious to know where that may be. There are 
some indications that it is in the northern parts of Tamilnadu e.g., 
Kanchipuram or North Arcot. Does anybody have further information?
