BagawathAs whose native is near to one of these temples may want to initiate some action to meet the needs of the temple. During adiyEn's visit to the the nava thirupathis, it is noted that four of the temples had two priests in common and the work in one temple from sunrise to untill 10:45 AM & work in the other temple from 11:00AM to 3:45 PM and revisit the first temple again at 4:00PM. It must have been a very tight schedule for the battars. Most of them commute in two wheeler between these temples that are a few kilometers apart from each other. The TVS group (Mostly vadakalai sampradAyam) had undertaken to reconstruct and renovate all of the nine divya desams of the nava thirupathis (all of the temples are as per thennAchAryA sampradhAyam) spending approximately about 20 million rupees ie Rs. 2 crores. It was said that some of the structures of the thulai villi mangaLam popularly known as irattai thirupathis. ie., There are two divya desams situated in this place, on the banks of thAmira barani river. There are no villages around these 2 temples. They are simply on their own in the middle of a "pottal kAdu" or a jungle. Even the priests close the temples and go home leaving the perumALs all alone. It is said that the structures of these two temples were really in a very bad shape and were even fallen down. But the TVS groups had done a very wonderful job of resurrecting some of the centuries old structures and strengthening them with modern designs and materials. In Sri peria kulam they have constructed a shed or "kottagai" for the elephant. That place itself is so huge as if a marriage can be conducted in it. That piece of construction alone may have cost them approx. Rs. 200,000. There is a lone liaison cum project management person appointed and paid by TVS, is working on supervising these projects. He is a SrivaihsnavaL and he goes around all the temple sites constructions everyday in his TVS 50 and reports the progress to TVS and as well maintain the accounts. But for TVS coming forward to take up these works these temples would have lost more structures by now. However, these temples are visited only by a handful everyday. When adiyEn went around no one else was ever present. On the same day there was "thiru vizhA" or a festival for a dEvathAnthram in a nearby village and there was more than 10,000 people there.
