It was  painful that perumAL koil was somewhat deserted  that
day. adiyEn also noticed a trend in some of the divya dEsams.
For  example  in  utthamar kOil near trichy there is a belief
that  if  one  visits this temple and have the darshan of our
perumAL for 11 thursdays  their  wishes  will  be  fulfilled.
Sri Oppiliappan koil is crowded on Sravanam days and all satu
rdays.  Thiru  ev vuL oor is crowded on ammAvAsai days and so
on.

There is a very strong  sentiment  prevailing in the minds of
the people in trichy city on this utthamar koil  perumAL  and
on thursdays  the crowd in this temple is really unmanageable.
adiyEn  went  on a thursday to this divya dEsam  and  noticed
the huge gatherings in every sannithi. Large number of people
turning over like these help the temple in their revenue. But
lately most  of   our  divya dEsams are running lack of funds.
Many of the divya dEsams in the nava thirupathi  area do have
only  half  a  kilo rice for "amuthu seythal" for the day and
nothing else.

  When adiyEN murmured slowly to my mother and bAryAL that we
never had the bAgyam of prasAdham so far, the priest in thiru
puLingudi (Sri kAycchina vEndhan   perumAL, incidentally whom
i worshipped everyday in my  nitya  arAdhanam, the  last  few
months  "manaseekamAga")  divya  dEsam  offered  some of that
day's and also mentioned that that  is all they have  perumAL
for a given day. It was pathetic. I hope that TVS also builds
up some  "Arak  kattaLai"  or trust for supporting the  nitya
ArAdhanai in a decent and sustainable manner.  If  any of you
who are members of this group who also belong  to  any one of
the nava thirupathis or anyother divya dEsam that is situated
in a village, or if  you know anyone who is a native of these
divya dEsams, then they   must  take up the responsibility to
support the temple near their home.
