Re: Dasaavataara Sannidhi

If this Sannidhi alone is to be deemed a " Divya Desam " based on the criteria cited in Jagan's post, anyone of the myriad Sannidhis dotting the entire landscape of not only Bharata Varsha but also the entire oriental and occidental Worlds (where ever newer Sannidhis are springing up, as a testimony to the vibrant resurgence of Hinduism in general and Vaishnavam in particular ) deserve to be called "Divya Desam". There is a difference however. The "myriad sannidhis" do not have swayam vyakta vigrahas. Nor did these vigrahas appear because Thirumangai Azhwar requested them to do so. Nor have these myriad temples been built by Thirumangai Azhwar. Thirumangai Azhwar built the temple that houses the Dasaavatara vigrahas today. It has its own little Gopuram. It has a vigraham of Thirumangai Azhwar sculpted by Thirumangai Azhwar Himself. These deities have a closer and more direct association with an Azhwar than many of the other divya desams which have been visited by the Azhwars only through their Yoga siddhi. Well if Dasaavatara Sannidhi is disqualified as a divya desam, then adiyen's vote is for Ahobilam. If we have a vigraham of Nammazhwar worshipped in a temple, then who is responsible for it? Malolan is. He made Adivan Satakopa change Azhwar Thirunagari from a Saiva to a Vaishnava sthalam. If Srirangam temple can boast of a Raja Gopuram, then Malolan is responsible for that. Numerous temples and tanks have been repaired or rebuilt. There are two schools that ensure that the Sampradayam is kept going strong and vibrant. Malolan is the only "divya desam" that keeps roaming and goes to people rather than have people come to them. adiyen is not sure in how many of the other divya desams, Bhara samarpanams or the Tengalai SamAshrayams take place. Finally, as Srimad Azhagiya Singar Himself has said, "tvayi rakshati rakshakaih: kim anyaih: tvayi chA rakshati rakshakaih: kim anyaih: I" If this doctor cures you then you do not need any other doctor. If this doctor does not cure then also you do not need any other doctor, because then no other doctor can cure you. Srimad Azhagiya Singar also quoted a shloka from ParAsara Bhattar and He conveys it Tamil/English. "A person was drinking milk separately and he was eating sugar separately. One day he went to somebody's house and they gave him milk mixed with sugar. This he found very tasty and became allergic to milk or sugar separately. Similarly, matsya varaaha etc. are animal forms and Rama and Krishna are human forms. But Nrsimha is a combination of man and animal and is doubly sweet." adiyen jagan.
