Dear Sri Sampath Rengarajan, It was sheer delight to read your erudite and informative postings on Tiru maalai. Any amount of imagination and speculation by our little minds would not be able to comprehend, let alone understand the nuances by our own efforts. The commentaries of Vyaakhyaana Chakravarti are non-pareil in this regard. No doubt, because the Vyaakhyaanams were in the Tamil in vogue at his times, it would be difficult for the neophyte with no more than a mere smattering of the language (even as it obtains now) to closely follow the original. One should have studied the Ancient and Medieval Tamil to understand the full significance of what Sri Periyavachan Pillai says. If one does not have this opportunity, only a study in the Kalakshepam tradition at the feet of qualified Acharya in a true spirit of learnung can open our eyes to the inner meanings of the Pasurams. I am glad to find that you are doubly qualified in both these aspects as revealed by your masterly and true representation of Poorva AcharyasÂ’ Vyaakhyaanams and in conformity with the text, context and commentaries of Poorva Acharyas. Thank you. Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy
