Dear BhAgavatas,

Adiyen is reminded of a couple of things after reading
Smt Sumithra Varadarajan's wonderful post on this
Thirumalai pasuram.

In the pasuram for Gajendra Varadar at Thiruvallikkeni,
Thirumangai Azhvar states

"Anaiyin thuyaram theerap puLLoornthu senRu ninRAzhi
thottAnai"

Here the interesting word is ninRu - that is, senRu
ninRu Azhi thottAnai. Azhvar does not say senRu Azhi
thottAnai. I remember hearing that, He went so quickly
for His bhakta's aid that He had to stop and wait
(ninRu) for His Chakra to catch up. The other meaning
was that He was in such a hurry that He was actually
standing (ninRu) on Garudazhvar when He arrived to
save Sri Gajendra (he could not bear even being
seated). It would be great if someone can post the
full vyakhyanam for this beautiful pasuram.

It is said that Sri Rama rarely, if ever, became angry.
This is one of those rare instances. This is the same
event talked about by our pirAtti, Sri Andal, in
Thiruppavai when she says "sinaththinAl thennilangai
kOmAnais seRRa".
