Sreemathe: Ramanuja:ya Namaha!!! Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Saranam!!! SriRamachandra’s soundaryam is uncomparable. He is broad-shouldered with powerful arms. His neck is like a conch-shell with thin lines, his cheekbones are high, his chest is broad, his feet are well formed. His arms are long till his knees. He has a beautiful high crowning head, a broad forehead and a winsome gait. Because of these beautiful features he was handsome and attractive. It is necessary for a human too to have a good physique. Good physical features are as important as one’s mental characteristics. The natural physical features should be improved by proper food, good habits and exercises. Srirama has a superb skill in archery. He has valour matching his skill. It is compulsory to have the caliber to take care of one’s self and one’s surroundings. He is neither too tall nor too short. The Sa:mudrika sa:sthra (the physiognomic treatise of Astrology) says that an emperor’s height should be ninety-six inches. Even if one has a very good body,if his body-parts are not symmetrical it would be horrible to look at. SriRama is not like that. He is ‘sama vibhaktha:nga’. His body parts are of accurate lengths that gave him beauty There is a shine in his body and body colour. His colour has tremendous attraction. His courage shudders his opponents. It is unbearable for his adversaries to stand in his presence as it is like standing uncovered in the hot mid summer mid day sun. He has a sinewy chest. His eyes are long and wide till the ears, beautiful, attractive and glowing. (pundareeka:ksha). Thus Ramachandra is a ‘sarva:nga sundara’. Thus Valmiki depicted SriRama’s physical as well as mental attributes. To be continued…… Jaisrimannarayana!!! Ramanujamma Mudumbai, Ramanujadasi. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com -------------------------------------------------------------- - SrImate rAmAnujAya namaH - To Post a message, send it to: bhakti-list@yahoogroups.com Group Home: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bhakti-list Archives: http://ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/ Your use of Yahoo!
