Thanks to Sri Anbil mAmA for giving his permission to have his excellent 
write up.

Let us take a pledge on this day to do regularly trikAla sandhyAvandhanam 
without fail. SandhyAvandhanam is performed even by Chathur mukha bramhA, 
Rudran and VishNu. Sri Rama and Lakshmana too were reported to have 
performed the same daily three times without fail. Maharishis. Sagess, 
Srivaishnava saints, have all been prforming the same. It is one of the 
mandatory nithya karmAs that need to be performed.

Sages have glorified the Gayatri mantra which is the heart of 
SandhyAvandhanam. The whole process is only a prelude and purification to do 
this Gayatri japa and there is no short cut like just doing japam is fone 
and why should one do the argyam, anganyAsa, karanyAsa etc.. This is the 
protocol per saasthrAs and we need to abdie by the same. It involves the 
sankalpam, and purifying ourselves to bring us up to the leve in order to 
perform the Gayatri japa.

H.H Srimad Pundareekapuram Andavan had once said (during Chilaarai Rahasyam 
kaalakeshEpam) "even one is in unconscious state, and is not able to perform 
any nithya karmas, (sandhyavandhanam), and if one wants to help him and do 
something to him, he can simply perform sandhyavandhanam (thrikaalam) for 
the patient also, additionally and separately. That is the greatest help one 
can do. Swami always talks about the essentiality of performing  
sandhyavandhanam, without which whatever one does - be it 106 Divya Desam 
visits, or 108 pradhakshinam of PerumAL Koil, it will not equal.

All Vaishnavites should be firm in their understanding of saasthrAs that 
they should never abstain from doing the most essential basic nithya karma 
i.e. sandhyAvandhanam. This MahAchAryan always advises those who come to the 
Ashramam not to leave this nithyakarmA. One who does not do sandhyAvandhanam 
and who has stopped doing the same, gets deprived of and disqualified from 
doing any vaidIka karma afterwards. He cannot even enter the temple. He has 
nithya theettu. He becomes karma chaNDALan. He becomes dirty forever. There 
is also a board that pierces our conscience and advises firmly, saying: “I 
have performed sandhyAvandhanam. Only after performing sandhyAvandhanam, I
am entering into this place”  This is an excellent strategy (which is
currently being followed in most of first class Management Schools.. as
Leadership covenants.. and Quality Policy etc..  AchAryan has done it by 
displaying this board what cannot be done even by saying hundred times, by 
letting their conscience speak to him.
