Srimad Azhagiya Singar Srivan Shatakopa Sriman Narayana Yatindra Maha
Deshikan, on Saturday released "Deshika prabandham Vol - 1" authored by Dr.
NS Anantharangacharya of Bangalore.

The release of this book was arranged at the residence of Dr. NSA along with
the dolotsavam of Malola Kannan.

Excerpts from Srimad Azhagiya Singar's upanyaasam -

Srimad Azhagiya Singar was extremely delighted to be recieved by a huge
bhagavatha goshti. Srimad Azhagiya Singar started with an invocatory note on
Sri Lakshmi Nrusimhan ( Lakshmi Nrusimha tavapaada ...). He then continued
with a popular shlokam from the works of Sri Madhusudana Sarasvathi. The
purport of this shlokam is that Madhusudana Sarasvathi who was a staunch
advaitin and shaivite, says in one of his shlokams - "Though my lips chant
Shiva panchaakshari, and though I believe in an attributeless brahman, my
mind is always fixed on that small kid of Yashoda's who is divine with all
auspiscious attributes and my mind always meditates upon him".
Swamy then elaborated upon certain aspects from Sribhashyam and the
defieiencies in the system of Advaitha and brought out as to how the system
of Vishishtaadvaitha excels all the other systems in every aspect. He also
insisted upon the importance paramekaantyam for a Srivaishnava. He then
continued glorifying the most noble efforts of all the poorvacharyas in
safeguarding such a great and accurate philosophical system.
He then praised the most noble efforts of Dr. NSA in propagating Ramanuja
Sampradayam, especially in the land most beloved to Ramanuja and Deshikan.
He said " Anantharangacharya swamy has been a great friend of mine for many
years and though swamy is very well versed in Sanskrit and Tamizh including
Kannada and English, he has written many great works of our poorvaacharyas
in Kannada to enable the people of Karanataka to take advantage of these
divine srisooktis that would help them follow the path prescribed by our
poorvacharyas".
H.H further continued saying " A great maharshi Sriman Anantharangacharya, a
great bhagavatha, atmagunapraripoorna and satsampradaya bhushaNa. It has
been my privilege to release this great Srisookti of our dear Sri Swamy
Deshika "Deshika prabandham" in Kannada. I request that everybody read these
divine works and to make the purpose of their publication worthwhile."

This was followed by Srimad Azhagiya Singar honouring Dr. NSA, for his
monumental service to Sri Ramanuja sampradayam.

Sriman Dr. NSA who spoke on the occassion, paid his respects to Sri Vedanta
Deshika Yatindra Maha Deshikan and to the prakrutam Azhagiya Singar. Dr. NSA
shared some of his notable conversations with Srimad Mukkur Azhagiya Singar
and also with Sriman Villivalam Narayanacharya (prakrutam Swamy's brother in
poorvashramam). 
Speaking about Srimad Azhagiya Singar, he said that it has been his great
bhagyam, that Srimad Azhagiya Singar has blessed his house with his paada
sparsham.
Dr. NSA then respectfully acknowledged Kannan's and Srimad Azhagiya Singar's
anugraham.
Speaking about the book he said that just as we offer a small cup of milk as
nivedanam to Sriman Narayana who reclines on the milky ocean, so is this
small service to the sampradayam to bring about more awareness amongst
people with regards to the sampradayam.

About the book -

This book authored in Kannada is the first volume which features
commentaries on 
Amrutha ranjani, Adhikara sangraham, Amruthaasvaadini, Adaikkalapatthu,
Prabandhasaaram, Thiruchinnamaalai, Gitarthasangraha and Pillaianthaadi.
All the shlokams are given in moolam initially for parayanam. Secondly each
one of these prabandhams is dealt with in great detail with word to word
meanings and commentary.

This book hosts beautiful colour phograohs of Swamy Deshikan and all the
present day acharyas.
