Dear BhakthAs:

Sri Lakshmi Srinivas(L.S) responded to 
Sri Lakshmi Narasimhan's question 
on the need for performing obligatory KarmAs
like TharpaNam for pithrus and mentioned 
about Vasus , RudhrAs and AdhithyAs.
Recently , Srimath Azhagiya Singar 
responded to this very same question
in His Tele-upanyAsam .

I will add some more information on the Vedic
connection of Vasu-Rudra-AdithyAs , who are
recognized as the svarUpams of one's parents,
grand parents and great parents.We invoke them 
in our SrardhAs and TharpaNams.

>our forefathers but also for the Vasus, Rudhras 
>and Adhityas. There are a certain number of Vasus, 
>Rudhras and Adhityas existing. These do not refer to 
>a particular God but are titles.
