Sri Sri Mathe Ramanujaya Namah Sri Mathe BAla Dhanvhi Maha Kuruvae Namah Alaghia Manavala Mamunighal - Part 4 (From the article written by Dr. Sri. V. V. Ramanujam published in Panchajanya magazine) In obedience to the command of his guru Varavaramuni put his heart and soul in propagating the DivyaPrabandhams along with the commentaries of the earlier Acharyas. Eadumuppatharayirappadi, Nampillai's commentary on the Sahasrageeth (Thiruvoimozhi) of Sri Satakopa (equivalent in length to 36,000 standard Sanskrit couplets) was his most favorite text. He had discoursed on the Sahasrageeth with this commentary many times over. These lectures on Baghavath Vishayam as the theme is called was once delivered at the command of Lord Ranganatha in His immediate presence over a whole year in the temple. Thus the Lord became the disciple of the Jeeyar and tradition has it that on the day of completion of the lectures, the Lord appeared in the audience as a small boy, recited the verse : "Sri Sailesa daya patharam , Deeparthathi gunarnavam Yathindrapravanam vandhe RamyaJamathru Munim" I salute the receptacle of the grace of Srisailesa, Ramaya JamathruMuni, the veritable ocean of (desirable qualities like) wisdom, devotion, and detachment and Ramanuja-devotion-incarnate) and disappeared. This verse is chanted practically in all Vaishnava temples and homes as it is VaraVaramuni whom He sought to serve as a disciple, be accorded the highest honour. Adiyen Elayavill Bhasyam Narasimhan Aravinda Lochana Ramanuja Dasan.
