Lord of knowledge is Sriman Narayana. It is through
His power that Sarasvathi is worshipped by many as
the Goddess of knowledge. Please consider Swami
Sri Desikar's Sri Hayagreeva Sthothram, verse 7:
.... dhEvi SarOjaaSan^a dharmapathn^ee ...
.......... spuranthi sarvE thava sakthi lEsai:
(O! Lord Sri Hayagreeva, it is but a spec of
Your power that is refelected in gods such as
the consort of the one seated in Lotus flower
i.e. wife of Brahma, Sarasvathi)
Therefore vidyaarmbam must begin with a prayer to
Lord Sri Hayagreeva, preceded by obeisance to our
Acharyaas, starting perhaps with the author of the
book Sri Gopala Desikan going all the way to Sriapthi.

It is my book only in as much as I have a copy or two
of it in my possession :-). To be sure that there is no
misunderstanding, the author of the book is Sri. V.N.
Gopala Desikan and published by Sri Visishtadvaitha
