Sri Krishnaya Namah! The naam japa always be fruitful for a bhaktha in the initial stages for increasing concentration in recitals. The concentration increases with the amount of interest/devotion we have. once a bhaktha makes it a habit to recite namas of the Lord his interest grows/directed at Him and this interest lead him to seek various avenues to know more about the Lord and his deeds(just as you are a member of this group and know more on God). At a highly elevated stages, zyana and bhakti becomes united, as they are one and the same. Bhakthi the fruit of the knowledge that one has on God should always be supported by shraddha and all these are complementary. To become a bhaktha one needs Lord's krupa drishti, also. Hence, a bhaktha is a gyani ('daksha' as per Lord Krishna). Thus knowledge and devotion is inseparable.
