srimathE raamanujaaya namaha. AdiyEn has been visiting Sriperumbudur (RamanujaÂ’s birth place) for the last 10 years during chithirai utsavam. Would like to share my thoughts.. adiyEn has been noticing that Sriperumbudur temple gets filled with Bhagawadas for the utsavam. Here I want to mention that in the group of Bhagawadas, I could see only (as said )Non-brahmins and very few (as said )Brahmins. This has been paining me a lot. Are we disowning the great strategy by Ramanuja on bringing Vaishnavism to even common people. It is told that he used to lean on the shoulders of villidaasa after bathing in kaavEri. As a strategy he did that and could win the hearts of people and brought them to fold. Are we disowning that? For experiencing this, you should go on a personal visit to srimperumbudur. You can see only RAMANUJA on each of their faces. Greatness of Ramanuja is seen even after 1000 yrs. 1. This is one greatness which I see that he could reach to common people and bring them before 1000 yrs when conservative thinking was more prevalent. 2. Ramanuja blended vishitaatvaida which is a vEdantha and Vaishnavam which is Sidhantha.. No other person could do this. Either they remained as vEdanthi or sidhanthi. 3. He brought effective temple administration. He bound people to the temples. For example, tirupathi was an average temple 1000 yrs back. He brought reforms and bound people to that temple. Now people visit the temple for all occasions which made the perumaaL richest in the world. If we followed this strategy in all the divya dEsams, we would not have had temples in dilapidated conditions. 4. He was so convinced about his concept that he could win over the enemies like amuthanaar too and made him write nooRRanthathi. 5. His approach was practical, simple and scientific. He preached Naturalism (iyarkai vaatham) and denied illusion theory. Science also tells that Naturalism is a real one. If we stand united and follow his path, we can win over the world logically.
