> Sri Ramajayam > SrimathE GopAla DEsika MahA DEsikAya Namaha > > Dear Bhagavathaas, > AdiyEn had the Parama Bhaagyam to attend the 81st TN Mahotsavam of asmad Acharyan, Sri Poundareekapuram Srimad Andavan Asramam, Sri GopAla DEsika MahA DEsikan Swami(Sri ParavakkoEttai Andavan). AdiyEn am writing below the Concluding part of AdiyEn's Anubhavam for the pleasure of Bhagavathaas. > > Since the night was spent outdoors with Saligraama Moorthys at the Pandal, AdiyEn could not get much sleep, and AdiyEn tried to start my day at the break of dawn(4am) with joy of escaping the mosquitoes wrath. There were some coughing sounds coming from the large well+tank of the Asramam. AdiyEn was in utter dis-belief to witness the Vairaghyam of Asmad Acharyan despite his frail body/age, undertook the pains to make a trip inside this deep well of small steps and that too slippery with moss and algae, to finish his morning chores. Later that day, one of the sishyas pleaded with Swamin, to revert to some convenience(like water drawn from the well/pumpset filling a cement tank etc). Swamin smiled and offered a simple reply, "this is how our Poorvacharyas have undertaken, why make it a big issue for me, I just sprinkle a little sand and the moss are not slippery anymore". In fact it was as much as three months before, Swamin had made Nadhi Snanam daily, until his fra! il body/age made Swamin lose a lot of time, that Swamin half-heartedly chose the Asramam tank for Abhigamanam routines. A few sishyas engaged in cleaning the well's steps and it took them atleast 6 hours to finish the task undertaken, and they were in utter astonishment about the Vairaghya Jnanam of our Acharya. > > Every day was laced with Veda Paarayanam, Veda Sadhas, Divya Prabandha Paarayanam with the three Acharyas(Srimad Andavan Periasramam, Poundareekapuram Asramam and Ahobila Mutt) making their divine presence, a feast to our eyes/ears. It is noteworthy to mention the style of participation of our Acharyas in the Sadhas. While Sri Mushnam Srimad Andavan points out mistakes nicely, and Sri Azhagiya Singhar prompting for the valid Pramaanas, and Asmad Acharya mediates lengthy discussions with interlude, the Anubhavam makes us think we were witnessing a Janaka Maharaja's Sadhas, thanks to the Acharyas, Veda Vidh and scholars participating in the Veda Sadhas. > > On 29th, Sri Lakshmi Hayagrivan was brought in a palanquin, in the morning with Vaadhya, Vedha, Divya Prabandha Gosham and our Acharya offered his Divya Mangalasaasanam, to Lord Hayagriva. Sri Rangam witnessed with joyous surprise to see the bastion of Sri Vaishnavas assembled in the Goshti for Sri Lakshmi Hayagriva Purappaadhu(Nam Perumaal GoshtiyA? allathu Nam Acharya GoshtiyA?). At the request of Sri.Ahobila Mutt Jeer, Swami proceeded to Dasavathaara Sannidhi to offer Mangalaa Saasanam to Maalola Nrusimhan and returned back to the Asramam before evening. The same day evening Sri Lakshmi Hayagrivar returned to Sri Rangam(as Kodi AroEhanam commences at Nam Perumaal temple). Later that night there was Kannan Dolai at the Asramam, and Sri.Ahobila Mutt Jeer and Acharya paid rich tributes to Kannan(it is noteworthy to realize many Acharyas including Pradamacharya in Geetacharyan were all born in Rohini). There were several books released during the event, and Sri Aho! bila Mutt Jeer spoke on our Acharyas work "Raamapiraanai KarpoEm" which elaborates Srimad Valmiki Raamayanam from Sri Raama Jananam to Seetha Kalyaanam. Sri Jeer commented that it was a great effort, and the print was flawless. Jeer continued to talk richly about Asmad Acharyan, and mentioned that he was pained to see the frail health of Asmad Acharyan, that he would never invite him again to Dasavathara Sannidhi(since Asmad Acharyan treads only by foot only and his physical health is painful for us to witness such trips).> > > On the actual TN, five outstanding Sri Vaishnava Acharyas of Avichinna Acharya Parampara made it to the event(Ahobila Mutt, Sri Parakaala Mutt, Sri Rangapriya Swami, Srimad Andavan Periasramam, Asmad Acharyan). In the opening address, our Acharya was in joyous tears "originally it was not my Thiruvullam to have a lavish TN celebrations, but today that feeling is gone, because I feel great joy that the masses are going to benefit from the confluence of 5 Yathis", at this point Swamis voice choked(and leaving us in tears with his Sowlabhyam). Sri Rangapriya MahA DEsikan Swami, paid rich tributes to Acharyas Atma Gunaas and Anushtaanas, inaugrated Desikar Sthothras as school prayer for an adjoining school as a part of "Orundhru ThanaE AmayadhoE" at the Mandapam. Other Yathivaras including Sri Brahma Tantra Swantantrar, Srimad Andavan Sri Mushnam Andavan, Sri Ahobila Mutt Jeer Srimad Naarayana Yatheendra Maha DEsikan, paid rich tributes to our Acharya and brought the even! t to a blissful close. > > The presence of Sri.Rangapriya MahA DEsikan, and the kaimkaryam rendered by descendants of Vennatrankarai Andavan Poorvasramam(sishyas at the Asramam), was as though Srimad Poundareekapuram Andavan and Srimad Vennatrankarai Andavan have themselves blessed the occassion with these emissaries as presents for the TN celebrations. > > AdiyEn apologize for the lengthy posting. AdiyEn cut short a lot of Swarasya Vishayam by avoiding Divya Sambhashanai of Sri Vaishnava Acharyas/scholars on our Acharya, personal/Bhagavathaas recollections in Srirangam, and the events recalled by the Barbers/Dhobis amidst themselves, referring our Acharya as "the great Sanyaasi", not even knowing his name, his TN or Poudareekapuram Srimad Andavan Asramam. Such was the great Divya Anubhavam AdiyEn had(Anru Naan PiranthilaEn, Pirantha Pin MaranthilaEn). AdiyEn conclude this posting with a wish as done in the Divya Anugraham of Sri Ahobila Mutt Jeer. "AdiyEn pray the Divya Dhampathis to help AdiyEn witness the 100th TN MahoEtsavam of this outstanding Sri Vaishnava Acharya Sri Paravakkottai Srimad Andavan Sri GopAla DEsika MahA DEsikan" > > Naarayana!
