I will be out of town and away from my email from
April 15-23. The Bhakti List will be on autopilot
on this time. Please take care of our little group 
and respect its guidelines in the meantime. This
having been said, I have attached the guidelines
as a reminder.

Welcome to the Bhakti List, an email forum for discussion of
the religion and philosophy of the Sri Vaishnava tradition.

BRIEF GUIDELINES

Topics:
  Any question or comment that is related to Sri Vaishnavism in all
  its aspects is fair game.  These topics include but are not
  limited to: details of Vedantic philosophy, daily worship,
  contemplative meditation, the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Alvars, Divya
  Prabandham, acharyas, temples, ethics, and rituals.

  Discussions should be carried out in the context of the
  Sri Vaishnava tradition, and not under the assumptions of other
  Vedantic or Vaishnava traditions, except as they relate or compare
  to Sri Vaishnava formulations.

No encoded emails, please:
  Please do not post binary files, images, encoded files,
  Postscript, etc. These are unreadable by many people and clog up
  our mailboxes.

Please be courteous:
  Please remain courteous, and please take a moment before you send
  your message to think of whether you are going to unnecessarily
  offend anyone, or if your ego is speaking rather than
  yourself. Strong opinions are very welcome; rude and offensive
  ones are not.

No Personal Agendas, Please:
  Please do not use the Bhakti List to engage in independent
  expositions of theology or doctrine, divorced from a study of
  the root texts and commentaries of the Sri Vaishnava tradition.
