2. Intent on mobilising the army of Sugreeva, on the
day break, Rama, distressed out of separation
from his beloved SitA, beheld a Raja Hamsa(King of
Swans), playful in a lotus pond, as delightful &
effulgent as the rays of the full moon.

3. Steadily beholding the Swan, which was as bright &
spotless as the garb of his beloved;
whose gait was as graceful and charming as that of
hers & whose cackling was consonant with the
mellifluous tinkling of her anklets, Rama, immersed in
her thoughts(being reminded of her), though
stout of heart stood stupefied, overcome by passion,
for at times, Cupid (God of love), reigns supreme &
severely overrules even the strongest of men.

4. Having recovered from that trance with great
difficulty, He, the brother of Lakshmana, enlivening
his
beloved with the message of love (to be sent through
that swan), honoured him by serving him with lotus
petals
(supposed to be very favourite to the swan), for,
acquiring an envoy is much more comforting than the
union with one's beloved itself.

5. Having bestowed more honours on him compared to
Hanuman, RAma, burning with passion,
solicited his service (as to convey his message of
love), who was but mute, for, at times when
people afflicted with separation, manifest their
desparate act of appealing even to inanimate things
like mountain, tree, cloud etc, wherefore any surprise
at a living being, being sought after.
