Re: Details on Kanchipuram

Dear Sir,
The most convenient lodge in Kanchipuram is Sri Rama Lodge, just diagonally opposite the bus stand and at this end of Nellukara Street. From here, Chinna Kanchipuram is about 4 kms away and there are local buses plying between the two ends of the town.
While coming back from Athigiri, one can get down at Theradi (Temple Car stop) and take a stroll in the road running parallel to the main arterial road (Gandhi Road) of the town. In this area, there are divya desams such as Villakadi koil, ashtabujam and thoopul at the other end of this road. Coming back to the lodge, one can walk across to Ulagalandha perumal koil just 200 metres away from Rama Lodge and a further 200 metres away is Kamatchi Amman koil. Inside this temple is Nilathingalthundam.
Moving about 8 kms away on the B'lore highway is Dhamal (Thiruputkuzhi) - I think there are many buses in that direction. Moving South, one can visit Uthiramerur though not a divya desam.
