Sri:

SrimatE Gopaladesika MahadesikAya Namaha,

Dear Bhaktas,

Adiyen is at a loss for words to express his gratitude for Sriman
Sadagopan Swamin's supportive notes and appeals for the above
Kaimkaryam. Adiyen considers it to be his parama Bhagyam to serve
under the leadership and direction of Uyarndha Sri Vaishnava
Bhagavatas, U.Ve. Dr. V.N. Vedanta Desikan Swamin, U.Ve. Sri V.N.
Venkatanathan Swamin, and U.Ve. Dr. Sadagopan Swamin.

As part of the above Kaimkaryam, a monthly celebration of the Rohini
nakshatram (starting from April 2000-Panguni Rohini) for one year is
currently underway. Adiyen is most thankful to the generous
contributions from several shishyas and abhimanis, which made the
celebrations a grand success. Veda Parayanam, Prabandha Parayanam,
Ramayana Parayanam, discourses by learned scholars, and Tadiaradhanai
are undertaken in a most traditional manner for each month drawing
great accolades from all Yativaras and Acharya Purushas of our
Sampradayam. The grand finale consisting of a week long event is set
to take place between March 24-31, 2001. Further details
will be made available shortly.

Adiyen wishes to conclude this post with a brief summary of the most
recent Padhuka Sahasram tele-upanyasam by H.H. Srimad Andavan Swami of
Srimad Poundarikapuram Ashramam. In it H.H. mentioned that "The Lord's
Tiruvadi (Padhuka) acquires a Mahima greater than any of the angams
of his Tirumeni. Why? This because of the fact that the Tiruvadi alone
has exclusive unintermittent Sambandham with Lord Narayana. How can
this be even greater than the Vakshasthalam which houses Piratti?"

H.H. proceeded to answer this question using pramANams from the
Ramayana as he commenced the samarpaNa paddhati. "Before Rama went to
the forest, ILaya Perumal insisted on accompanying Him even though
the Lord was reluctant at first. Piratti had to use arguments arising
from Her status of being His consort, His vow to Janaka, etc in
persuading the Lord to allow Her to accompany Him to the forest.
Whereas the Lord of His own accord decided to take along with Him the
Padhukas." Another reason mentioned by H.H. was that "The established
practice of begetting Perumal Sambandham is through a Sadacharya.
The Lord conssumately illustrates this in the Ramayana. How? The
Padhukas denote Satari Soori or Swami NammAzhwar, who is a pre-eminent
acharya in our tradition. Hence, by first taking along the Padhukas
with Him the Lord provided His Sambandham to Lakshmana and Piratti
through the Acharya (Swami NammAzhwar). Therefore, the status of the
Padhukas is unmatched!"

Namo Narayana,

SriMuralidhara Dasan
