Dear Bhagavathas,

Sriman Balaji said >> no one calls vishnu as om vishnu <<

During Sandhyavandanam, we do use Om Vishnum tarpayAmi,
Om VishnavE namaH, as well as hariH Om.
Om is also sacred to Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs.

TaittirIya Upanishad says: Om iti brahma, Om itIdagam sarvam.
We identify brahma as NarayaNa/VishNu/Krishna.

Om is all encompassing (perhaps OMNI may have its origin in Om).
Om has four parts, A-U-M and silence.
All parts of vocal chord are used in properly utering Om.
Thus all spoken and unspoken words are fragments of Om (a sthe lord says in 
the gItA: girAm asmaikamaxaram).
A represents beginning (Spring), U being (Summer), M (Autumn) fading away,
and Silence (Winter)- take for example a tree that looks apparently dead 
(leafless) in Winter. That silence represents immortality.
