Post 26

Dear Sri vaishnava prunthagaiyeer,

First my apologies for delay in dispatching the next post. As I was
travelling continuously, I could not draft the next post and serve the
krishna bhakthaas.

Continuing the krishNa sthuthi by the wives of kaaLiyan the snake, the next
naama occurring is "Om ananthaaya nama:" - meaning - prostration to you, oh
lord, who is not limited by time, space and objects. Also the soul of snake
ananthan - aadhi sEshan on whom the lord rests for his yOga nidhraa, could
also be meant here, that soul- again who it is- none other than sri krishna,
standing in front.

This naama is also the 665th naamaa in SVSN. As per sri sankara's bhashyam
of SVSN, there is another naama 886th of SVSN reading same Om ananthaaya
nama:". But Sri Bhattar takes this anantha combines with next two naamas and
consider them as one naama only- a lengthy - "om anantha huthaBhug
BhOkthaaya nama:" - 889th naama.

"sathyam gnaanam anatham brahma" says thaithreeya upanishadh - 2 -1.

"gandharvaapsarasa: sidhdhaa: kinnarOragachaaraNaa:
naantham guNaanaam gachchanthi thEnO~nanthO~yamavyaya:
2-5-24 sri vishNu puraanam
meaning- no body like gandharvaas, apsaraas, sidhdhaas, kinnaraas, uragaas,
chaaraNaas, can fully describe him for he is anantha: endless in
characteristics- guNaas.

This "endlessness" guNa is furthered in combination with others and said as

Om ananthajithE nama - naama 308th naama of SVSN- he who shines with
boundless form or victor of innumerable. The sentence "sathyamEva jayathE
naanrutham" as upanishadh declares, the lord is nothing but sathyam, so he
has to be with all time and endlessness built in - hence "ananthajith".

Om anantha aathmanE nama: 521st naama of SVSN - he who is the inner soul of
anantha the snake aadhi sEshaa. Another meaning - endless or infinite soul
of all.

Om anantha roopaaya nama: - 932nd naama of SVSN- one who has infinite forms.

Om ananthasriyai nama: - 933rd naama of SVSN- one who has infinite wealth.
As mentioned above the long 889th naama also to be added here- meaning one
who holds indhra and brahma..

The next naamaa by the ladies, is "om sookshmaaya nama:" meaning-
prostration to you oh lord who is subtler than the subtlest. also 458th
naama of SVSN.
"sarvagatham sookshmam" says mundaka upanishadh- 1-1-6. Where ever you go he
is available in subtle form.

Point here is - dear bhakthaas- please observe the extent of realisation of
these wives of kaaLiyan, the snake, about lord krishNa - previous naama is
anantha, next is sookshmaa: the endlessness and at the same time
pervasiveness is well realised. Oh, what a depth in realising the lord
standing in front for these persons.

The next naama is om kootasthaaya nama: - meaning- prostration to you, oh
lord, one who has the highest position among all.
There is no such naama in SVSN. Just to recall "nam aazhvaar" is named
prapanna jana santhaana kootasthar- among prapannaas the exalted one.

The next naama is "om vipaschithE nama:" - prostration to you, oh, wise and
learned lord. There is no such naama in SVSN.

The next naama is "om naanaa vaadha anurOdhaaya nama: - meaning- prostration
to you, one who fulfils all the wishes as asked by others.

Dear bhakthaas- see how clever these ladies are- they indirectly puts
across, "we are going to ask some thing, you have a name and fame that you
fulfil all wishes of all, hence we also expect you to live upto that name
and fame".

Next naama is om vaachya vaachka sakthayE nama:- prostration to you, oh
lord, who gives all the power to speak and then the substance to talk also.
Another meaning also can be taken as "oh lord, you are the one as the
vedhaas and the substance described in these vedhaas".

After going through so many naamaas, I wonder in what all ways these ladies
are praising krishna. Are they really so much knowledged or it is all due to
his mahimai of standing in their front.

Praise that krishna and be happy till we receive next post.

Dhasan

Vasudevan m.g.
