Re: Expansion verses Creation

Namaste,

According to our Sri Ramanuja darshanam, This Entire Universe is the
body of God or Sriman Narayana.
As the Lord is beginningless, this universe consisting of living and
non living things, being His body is also eternal.
The Purusha suktam clearly states that this Universe forms one
portion of the Lord and the other three portions are beyond human
comprehension and divine.

In the dhyana slokam of Sri vishnu sahasranamam "Anthastham yasya
vishvam sura nara khaga go..." it is said that this vishva or
universe including the devathas, humans, etc., are all in Him and He
has all the three worlds as His body.

The Swethaswatara Upanishad (4:5) states that : " The Prakriti, the
soul and God all of them are uncreated.they are the cause of the
whole universe. They have no cause of the whole universe and have been
existing eternally. The etarnal soul enjoys the etarnal matter and is
wrapped up in it while God neither enjoys it nor is He wrapped in it."

Lord Krishna in the BG (2-28) clearly states that All created beings
are unmanifested in the beginning, Manifested in the interim and will
be unmanifested again after annihilation.

>From All this it is clear that Jivas and Jagat are beginningless
entities and they are inseperable from God, exist in God as His
Shareeram or Body.

The Unmanifested state is something beyond time (or where time comes
to a stand still). It is something which we can never think with our
minds. At the beginning of the Kalpa, the Lord brings out the universe
into its manifest form and Space, time,Name and Form will start from
this point.
Thus Creation as explained earlier is the merciful act of Srinam
Narayana who gives a manifested form to this Universe to enable we
Jivas to work out our Karmas. As long as we have the Ahankara and
Mamakara in us we will be bound by the Karma.

Namo Sriman Narayana

Suresh
