Dear Bhagavatottamas,

Whoever has done this, it is a rAvaNa's act, done intentionally or unintentionally. She cannot tolerate separation from Him even for a while and that is why Nacchiyar thirumoli is recited during Thirumanjanam on the hill when She is taken down from His ThirumArbhu.
yesterday I thought it is a rumor somewhat similar to Thiruchanur thayar's Thali. now I am deeply distressed to note this. 

Ok, Lord krishna suffered several injuries in Mahabharata battle. this is also like that only. Such incidents will only revitalise our faith in Him and can never shake it. 

while mutilating the vigraham of Lord in any temple is 
a very big apacharam, playing with the swayam vyakta moorti like Periya Perumal is like entering into a battle with rAma or Krishna. one  should always be aware that He is the destroyer of entire universe and kills crores of jeevas everyday without any mercy. rAvaNa et al. also tried to do several apcharams without heeding to their well-wishers and His daily business of creating and killing goes on uninterrupted by such attempts (Krishna dEvarAya says "avyAhatamulu rAvaNAdi valana" in his work.).

i just cannot understand as to why the general hindu folk here in chennai is not at all reacting to this sad news.
