Shri RAmAnujasya CaraNou Sharanam PraPadhyE

NamskAram DAshyai Sumithra VaradarAjan AvarkaLE.

I am sorry for my misunderstanding about the identity of the author of the
ThirumAlai Series. Please excuse me.

I really enjoyed the piece as it made me think. Thank you for the refernce to
the Commentaries of Shri ParAsara Bhattar.

I am a teacher of adolescent childern, not of scholars or even university
kids. When I teach chidren I see a great need to focus and stay on a central
idea. And it seemed to me that I was missing something central in the
beautiful and the most famous PAcuram of ThondardipPodi AazvAr. I learnt it
in my school days in ThirucChirapPaLLi. The song has always left me
wondering. I have remembered the first two lines for more than 45 years now.
It is one of very few songs whose first two lines I remember.

The two words that have frustrated me over the years were "Paccai" in
"PacaiMA Malai" and "AccuthA". Hence my comment.

Thanks to your posting, I have now resolved the issue to my satisfcation at
least for the moment. Please keep working.

Vandhanam.

Visu

Naha SrIkurvaksmAn KrupAm: May He endow us with Grace here and now.
