Dear bhAgavathas,

Sri V. Krishnan Swamy is having some problems with a virus on his PC, so
he has asked me to forward this message to all of you:

--------------------

Srimate Ramanujaya Namaha.

Fm: Velukkudi Krishnan - Chennai.

The second anniversary of Swamy Nammalwar India Foundation is being
celebrated on 1st July 2001 at T. Nagar chennai. Each year the
foundation takes the opportunity of submitting the title "Srivaishnava
Simham" to
the lotus feet of three Vidwans. One from Tennacharya sampradayam, one
from
Desika sampradayam and one Prapanna vidwan.

Last year Sri. U. Ve. T. A. Krishnamachariar Swamy (tirupati), Sri. U.
Ve. Perukkarai Chakravartiachariar Swamy, and Sriman Endur Swamy were
conferred the title.

This year, Sri. U. Ve. Purisai Krishnamachariar Swamy, Sri. U. Ve
Puttur Krishnaswamy Iyengar Swamy and Sriman Dindigul Toppuswamy would
be
conferred this title. I need not elaborate on their selfless service in
the
propagation of Srivaishnavism. This can never be valued.

But considering it as our duty and pleasure we submit a token purse of
Rs. 10,000 (USD 250) to them on that day. I did not request any of you
last
year for sponsorship. But now that I know many of you are interested in
participating financially for noble causes, I am putting up this
request.

You can either take up the sambhavai of one swamy or contribute
whatever you can. We would pool this and offer it to the swamys. Your
name (or if
you want it in your parents name), would be read on the day of the
anniversary.

You would agree with me that this is too small an amount. I would like
to increase this amount being offered to them. Please note that you must

be willing to donate this amount year after year. This is purely my
initiative.

Neither the foundation, nor the swamys
would like anything of this sort. But I thought that many bhagavatas
should
have the opportunity to participate in this and so this request.
Thondaradippodi alwar says ' kurangugal malayai nookka " Many monkeys
joined together
in lifting one boulder while building sethu. One monkey was capable of
lifting many rocks. But since every monkey wanted to serve Rama, and the
number
of rocks were less than the number of monkeys, many monkeys had to lift
one rock. Let us also join together in serving these Srivaishnavas.

We are short of time. So I request you to just send me a mail about
your willingness and the amount. All donations can be routed through:

International Ramanuja Society
c/o Sri Mohan Sagar
1239 South Boston Street
Denver CO 80231

who inturn would remit one cheque to Swamy Nammalwar India Foundation.
Pls mark a copy of the mail you send to me to Sri Mohan Sagar
