Re: A Suggestion

From the Bhakti List Archives

• July 24, 2002

Dear Members of the List,
I am happy to be reading the interesting and enlightening mails being filed
with such enthusiasm and scholarly input.
While the content of the mails often has reference back to Tamil and
Sanskrit wisdom, the texts are in English. There are occasions when English
fails to convey the exact information that some of our members want to
provide to the other members.
In such a context, may I suggest that those who are interested in writing in
Tamil can download the tsc fonts that are being widely used on the internet
and exploit the same to hold discussions in Tamil?
If the suggestion sounds plausible, I will let you know the details of how
to have the fonts downloaded and how to create files and send mails using
the tsc fonts. It is free and also functionally very effective.
Most of the Tamil discussion groups on the internet use the tsc fonts as at
least some of the members in the list may be aware of.

With Obeisance to all,
Ramani

please visit http://www.geocities.com/ramaninaidu where there is a pdf file
of elucidation of Thiruppavai, Thiruvempavai and Thiruppalliyelucci in Tamil
and English which had attracted international readership during the month of
Marghazhi for the past two years. The site also has a book in pdf form on
Vaishnavam in the north, beginning with the Upanishadic periods down to the
11th century literature.

Ramani
