 dear sriman ramesh,

in srivaishnavism, ashtAksharI mahAmantra, dvayam and chrama sloka are the most imp mantras. unlike gayatri, these can be recited by anybody irrespective of gender or caste.
gayatri mantra is also about Srimannarayana as antaryAmi of sUrya.

several elders consider ashtakshari to be the mother of all mantras.

one becomes a SV only after getting initiated into these three mantras. on the other hand, gayatri mantra is common for all dvijas.
